Injector Cleaning Process

01

We receive your injector and immediately begin the cleaning process.

02

We prepare an Excel test report that includes both initial and final flow data, so you can see the results of our work.

03

We perform an initial exterior cleaning, followed by an inspection of the injector. We also measure and record the coil winding resistance using a scope to observe the coil current waveform.

04

Next, the injectors are placed on our specialized ASNU Fuel injector machine or our custom flow tester, based on the size and type of the injector. We then conduct a leak test at various pressures and check the spray patterns.

05

The actual flows of the injectors are measured during both static (wide open) and dynamic (pulsed) tests. Pulsed flow testing is crucial because it mimics how the injector operates in the vehicle.

06

The injectors are then disassembled by removing the pintle cap, o-rings, filters, and spacers. We place it back in the parts washer to clean newly exposed areas.

07

The injectors are placed in the first of three ultrasonic cleaning tanks to clean the bottom and exterior. This step prevents the cross-contamination of cleaning solutions in subsequent steps.

08

The injectors are moved to a second heated ultrasonic tank for further cleaning. We connect leads to pulse them on and off. Depending on the results of the initial flow test, they may go through multiple cycles.

09

The injectors are then moved to a third ultrasonic cleaning tank with extremely clean fluid for continued cleaning. We pulse the injectors again to ensure thorough cleaning.

10

We perform a high-pressure back-flush to remove any remaining particles.

11

The injectors return to the ASNU machine for a second round of static and dynamic flow testing. Any injectors not flowing as expected will be cleaned again and retested.

12

After the foam settles, we check the results. Ideally, the injectors should flow within 1% variance.

13

We replace any remaining parts, such as spacers and filters, and place the cleaned injectors in numbered plastic bags to prevent damage.

14

Finally, we prepare another Excel test report showing the before and after flow data, so you can see the improvement. We carefully pack everything and prepare it for shipping back to you.
